Treating Cold with Neijing Nature-Based Medicine
Cold is one of the most pervasive and stubborn pathogens that the Neijing teaches about. Removing it from the body can provide deep and long lasting relief for our patients. Thankfully, the Neijing carries instructions for methods of surgically precise diagnosis and treatment which can remove the cold and bring this much needed relief.
During this two-day course, students will learn the theory behind how cold pathogens affect and move through the body, how to locate it, the principle behind its treatment, and the progressive process and techniques for actually removing this stubborn pathogen from the body.
On day 1, we will cover the theory and principles so that students are well equipped for day 2, where we spend the day in practice.
Date: January 10-11th
Time: 10am-4:30pm both days
Price: $210

Attuning to the Seasons: Introduction to Seasonal Pulse Diagnosis from a Neijing Perspective
Living and breathing with the seasons is a key component of Chinese medical practice and life nourishing methods. But how do we know if we or our patients are in tune with this grand orchestra of nature as is moves through its song? The Neijing proposes a brilliantly elegant and straightforward way of not only assessing if someone is out of tune, but also how they are out of tune. When we are equipped with clinically precise tools for diagnosis, we can make clear and targeted clinical interventions that bring about significant change to patients health and overall wellbeing.
In this day-long workshop, we will cover the basic qualities of the 4 seasonal pulses in their ideal, excess, and deficient states in the radial artery. We will also explore the dynamic of the Carotid-Radial ratio as it relates to seasonal changes, and touch on some methods of intervention that can bring about rapid restoration of the seasonal breath.
This course is excellent for anyone who wants to learn more about pulse diagnosis whether they are just starting out or have some experience, and anyone interested in a more classically minded approach to diagnosis and treatment.

Qigong for Spinal Health - 2 Day Intensive
The spine is the center of our being, the tent pole from which our body suspends itself and the vehicle through which the heavens and the earth communicate in our body. Spinal health is crucial to whole body health. In NNBM, when we assess for places that will give the most improvement the most quickly, after breath, the restoration of the spine is our first priority. Drawing from his nearly 15 years of experience in Chinese martial arts and Qigong, DJ has put together a two-day intensive course that will teach students how to wake up the sleeping dragon of the spine and breathe life into the body. These gentle yet powerful practices can form the foundation for a deeper qigong or martial arts practice later on, or work on their own as a daily practice for anyone wanting to keep their spine healthy and happy through their life.
Dates: January 31st - February 1st
Time: 10am-2:30pm both days

Harmonizing with Nature: Wu Yu Liu Qi Patterns -2026/7
Understanding the intricate and subtle movements of the natural patterns around us is key to the skilled practice of Chinese medicine. Added by the famous editor Wang Bing in the most famous edition of the Neijing, the Five Movements and Six Qi (WuYun LiuQi) system is a comprehensive model that lays out the complex interactions of the cosmic patterns and the weather cycles on Earth. The system establishes subtle qualities that shift from season to season, year after year, and illustrates typical ways that these qualities manifest in nature and human beings.
Each year, we offer a day-long seminar during which we cover the key qualities that govern the year, the intricate relationships between the various cosmic and weather patterns, and how these affect our patients. We travel season by season through the year and explore how these subtle patterns shift and bring about new expressions in nature and our individual experiences.
This course offers a rich and deep learning that can be revisited throughout the year to continue to solidify our relationship to the natural rhythms that envelop and penetrate our being. Students will be provided with a handout containing the translations directly from the Neijing, organized for ease of use and clarity.
Date: February 15th - Just in time for the Chinese New Year!
Time: 10am-4:30pm

NeiJing Chapters Series: Su Wen 2: Tuning the Shen to the Four [Seasonal] Qi - Living with the Seasons
One of the core concepts of Chinese medicine is that human beings exist within and echo the broader patterns of nature. Re-connecting ourselves with these great movements is one of the most reliable ways to restore and maintain health and reconnect ourselves with our true home. This concise and easy to apply series of passages from the Huangdi Neijing contains some of the most fundamental teachings on seasonal changes in nature and how we can best adjust ourselves to match these changes.
During this day-long lecture, we will gradually progress through all four seasons as described in the Neijing. We will go line-by-line through the text and explore modern interpretations and applications that can be adapted to everyone's life. Throughout the day, there will also be plenty of time for questions to ensure each student is able to take away the approach that is right for them.
Whether you're curious about Chinese medicine in general, an expert looking for more, or a new student of Chinese medicine looking for a stronger connection to the nature-based roots, this class is an excellent way to spend a Sunday.

Aging Gracefully: Integrating Classical and Modern Understanding of the Aging Process
Aging is a process that affects every single person and a thorough understanding of this process is essential in all forms of skilled medical practice.
